Associate Professor of Surgery

Sherene Shalhub, MD, MPH, FACS, is a vascular surgeon and an associate professor of Surgery in the department of Surgery, at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Shalhub is actively involved in research which assess the impact of medical management and surgical procedures on patients with aortic dissections and improves the practice of surgery through education, training, and policy initiatives. Her research work is federally funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Dr Shalhub is the lead investigator for the VEDS Collaborative Research Study and the Aortic Dissection Collaborative patient engagement initiative. She serves as the Vice Chair of the National Registry of Genetically Triggered Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and Cardiovascular Conditions (GenTAC) Alliance Science working group, is member of the Professional advisory board for the Marfan Foundation and the Ehlers-Danlos Society medical and scientific board.
