Rachel Kuchtey, MD, PhD

Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences - Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Dr. Kuchtey joined Vanderbilt University in 2005 after finishing her training at the Cleveland Clinic and has been taking care of patients with a variety of eye diseases, including complications related to Marfan syndrome and other connective tissue diseases. Dr. Kuchtey is also a principal investigator of a NIH funded laboratory. One of the major research areas of her laboratory is to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of ocular manifestations of connective tissue disorders with a goal of developing targeted treatments and ultimately eliminating the blindness caused by those diseases.
